Jacquet Droz Tourbillion Minute Repeater

The Tourbillon Minute Repeater Calibre Jaquet Droz 2962 watch is not only a tourbillon but also a minute repeater. On the extremely bare slate dial is an opaline silver counter with a large decentred second hand at 9 o’clock. The simple white gold case measures 43 mm in diameter.
It is only by turning over the watch that one discovers, under the transparent sapphire crystal, the Calibre Jaquet Droz 2962 T equipped with a tourbillon with a monometallic balance and auto-compensating Breguet spiral. It has a frequency of 18,000 vibrations per hour and a working reserve of 48 hours.
A discreet bolt on the side of the case at 9 ‘clock initiates the minute repeater with a chime on request with two tones, one low for the hours and the other for the minutes.

Ulysse Nardin Royal Blue Tourbillion

The Royal Blue Tourbillon is constructed on the principles of James Pellaton (La Locle’s famous watchmaker). The skeletonized movement hides its secret as to what is holding the flying tourbillion, which appears to be revolving weightlessly in its cage. The winding stem is also invisible.
The Royal Blue Tourbillion (42 mm) is in platinum and the interior of the bezel is set with diamonds and blue sapphires as hour and minute markers. The setting of the time and the winding of the Calibre UN-79 manual winding movement uses a circular rack mechanism.
This Limited Edition timepiece (99 pieces) has an anti-reflective sapphire crystal front and back, an alligator leather strap with a folding platinum buckle and is water-resistant to 50 metres

Panerai Luminor Arktos GMT

The Panerai Luminor GMT Arktos was used by Mike Horn in his Arctic expedition which allowed him to determine north. By pointing the hour hand at the sun, north is ascertained at midway between the hour hand and 12 o’clock and this gives the position for setting the rotating bezel with the four cardinal points applied in relief. By using the 24-hour dial, the Luminor GMT enables north to be identified with greater ease, since the 24-hour scale marked on the outer edge of the dial means that the midway point does not have to be estimated: the supplementary 24-hour hand points to the sun and north is at 24.00.
The Luminor GMT Arktos (44 mm) is in stainless steel and is equipped with a Panerai OP VIII Calibre movement, with a 42-hour power reserve. There is a date aperture at 3 o’clock, the watch is water-resistant to 300 metres and the caseback is engraved with the logo of the Arktos expedition – the drawing of the globe showing the route taken by Mike Horn.

Arnold & Son True North Perpetual

The True North Perpetual by Arnold & Son reflects a symbiosis of time, within which civil time, i.e. the average time within a time zone and the globe as a cosmic clock are brought together for the first time in an extraordinary wristwatch.
Powered by a hand wound movement with a 7-day power reserve, the watch features a perpetual calendar which takes account of leap years, a moon phase display calculated on a 29.5 day lunar cycle, a 24-hour time zone indication which can also show the mean solar time, and a double equation of time display (equation segment and running equation indication, both giving the difference between true solar time and mean solar time).
The True North Perpetual is the very first timepiece capable of indicating true solar time in a given place and the true geographical North – once a day at true solar noon. It also include another innovation: it incorporates summer time or daylight saving time correction and the longitude of a given location.
Crafted in 18 carat white gold the True North Perpetual is equipped with a movement produced exclusively by Jaquet SA for Arnold & Son. Using a revolutionary technology of gears with an elastic toothing, the movement is also equipped with a three-level going-train comprising an interior toothing (patented). The finely decorated movement features the ‘1764’ signature on one of the wheel bars. Water-resistant to 30 metres, this handsomely innovative timepiece is also available in a Limited Edition in platinum and a pink gold version featuring a progressive minute-track.

Urwerk UR-103

URWERK’s most recent creation is the model UR-103. A futuristic timepiece, its almost rectangular, solid gold case is wrought from a block of the precious metal. The design is completely different from the previous watches. The aerodynamic cross-section of an idealized wing profile looks great on the wrist and is a work of figurative art in itself. It can also be further personalized by engraving on the top or sides. According to Marcel Duchamp, again, it is a futuristic symbiosis of two dimensions: time and space. It is also true to the archaic principle of tracing exact time simply by the path travelled by a single pointer.
The truly gigantic crown at the "12 o’clock” position is an eyecatching – and highly unusual – style element. Like a rocket engine, the crown is the watch’s power source, because it is used to wind the movement up to its 42-hour reserve. As another ‘first’ in the URWERK Collection, the display field for the ‘travelling hour’ is closer to the viewer, having been shifted to the lower edge of the case. Combined with the display position, this makes discreet, easier reading of the time possible. There is no need to turn the wrist towards the body to do this. Another innovation are the three separate display fields on the underside of the watch, which cannot be seen when it is worn. Under sapphire glass, this control centre or dashboard has second hands, a 15-minute revolution, the power reserve and the unique running control.
The watch case size is: 36 x 14 x 50 mm.Traveling hour indication, available in rose- and white gold, polished or engraved, shaped sapphire glass, antireflex.Caliber UR 03-I, manually winding movement, 4 Maltese cross based, rotary system, frequency 21600 A/h, Control center (case back), 42 hour power reserve indicator, 15-minute and 60-second dials, regulating screw (for tweaking the time forward or backward 30 seconds in a 24-hour period)

Harry Winston Excenter Tourbillion

Designed in collaboration with the highly talented English master watchmaker Peter Speake Marin, Harry Winston is currently presenting a new tourbillon. This time, however, a tourbillon outside the Opus collection, as part of the Excenter series has some special characteristics inspired by old English horology. The tourbillon bridges, in this case visible on both the dial and movement side of the watch, are beautifully shaped and polished. The power reserve is a healthy 110 hours, and is shown by 2 indicators visible on the back of the movement, one indicator running from 0-50 and the other from 50 to 110. But since this information is located on the back of the watch, it is not always directly visible to the owner. An inspired solution was taken from some antique English racing cars that had dual fuel tanks using a meter with a colored indicator to show the last remaining liters of the fuel supply. Here, the HW logo on the dial side with its regulator style layout turns electric blue when the remaining power approaches the final 25 hours. Instead of the usual red jewels, this watch uses blue sapphires set into white gold chatons, each set with three blued screws. The ruthenium bridges, diamond jewel for the tourbillon dial side bridge, the decorative Geneva stripes of the movement used as a dial and all the details above, together create a technically unique and visually fascinating creation. The Excenter Tourbillon will be available in pink gold and platinum versions.

Girard-Perregaux Automatic with 3 gold Bridges

To meet the expectations of the collectors and friends, GIRARD-PERREGAUX presented in 1999 a Tourbillon with three gold Bridges fitted with an automatic winding system.
Their idea, a real stroke of genius, was to use the space available on the plate below and around the barrel to install a small platinum rotor which, due to its high density, would compensate for its small diameter. This respects both the dimension of the movement and the perfect structure of the three Bridges.
Patented by the GIRARD-PERREGAUX Manufactory, this technical feat produced not only an absolutely reliable movement, but one with a power reserve of over 48 hours, another remarkable feature in a watch now recognised throughout the world

Dubey & Schaldenbrand Spiral - Split-Second

"Spiral - Split-Second" is … as its name suggests … a split-second chronograph which features the patented blued-steel "Isoval" spiral recoil spring between the chronograph counter hand and the split second counter hand. Although without function, this purely decorative spiral pivots around the center axis of the hands.
"Spiral - Split-Second" comes in a 316 L stainless surgical steel case measuring 40 x 46 mm with a thickness of 14.7 mm. It uses a curved sapphire crystal which features an anti-reflective coating on both sides of the crystal for added legibility. As for all watches of the "Spiral" family, the unique and stylish "mobile lugs" conveniently fix the leather strap to the case. The silvered dial with its stunning guilloche pattern along with the roman numeral hour markers give this model a "face" which will certainly not go unnoticed.
For this particular model, the performance of the split second chronograph is at its absolute peak thanks to its self-winding, automatic movement which runs on a frequency of 28,800 oscillations. A close look at the dial reveals 4 sub-dials namely … a 30-minute counter … a 12-hour counter … a small-second counter and … a date indicator.
Typical of Dubey & Schaldenbrand watches, the sapphire crystal case back allows one to appreciate the beauty and functionality of the hand-engraved movement.

A. Lange & Söhne Lange 1

The LANGE 1 is a mechanical wristwatch without peer or precedent. It was introduced as the first Lange watch of the new era and horologically represents a culmination of what aficionados and connoisseurs of fine watches associate with the great "A. Lange & Söhne" heritage. In its heart beats the spiritual legacy of the historic pocket watches built by Lange.
With its patented outsize date, however, it also aptly demonstrates how tradition and ingenuity can come together in style. This useful display, like the five-minute digital clock in Dresden's Semper Opera that inspired it, improves the legibility of the date by about three orders of magnitude in comparison with conventional timepieces. The solid-silver dial, with its characteristic off-centre displays, indicates the hours, minutes, and seconds. Depending on the model, the hands are made of gold or blued steel. The UP and DOWN scale provides information on the state of wind of the twin mainspring barrels which, when fully wound, offers a power reserve of three days.
The LANGE 1 comes in 18-carat gold or platinum with a hand-stitched crocodile strap or, as an option, with an exquisite precious-metal bracelet. The matching gold or platinum clasp is engraved with the Lange signature; the embossed winding crown is solid gold. The sapphire-crystal caseback affords a mesmerising view of the unique Lange L901.0 movement.

Tag Heuer SLR

The SLR Chronograph by TAG Heuer, exclusively designed for Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren owners.
The two logos – the TAG Heuer shield and the star of Mercedes-Benz – grace the black dial, which looks like a sports car dashboard. The two SLR “gill” patterns stamped at 3 o’clock pay homage to the car’s signature side-mounted exhausts, an echo of the 1950s SLRS. Another unique touch is the off-centred date counter at 7:30. Under the hood lies the peerless Calibre 36 automatic movement. Like the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren’s hand-built, supercharged 626-hp V8 engine, this is an exceptional source of power. The only 1/10 of a second automatic chronograph, beating at 36.000 alternances/, it is the standard-bearer of TAG Heuer’s watchmaking tradition. Yet it also represents an exciting new innovation, unique to the SLR Chronograph: the Calibre 36 has been specially outfitted by TAG Heuer watchmakers with a regulator that provides the TAG Heuer SLR’s dial the look and utility of a sports-car dashboard, with individual gauges for each function. All of which can be read simultaneously. Therefore it’s name: Calibre 36 Regulator

For reading the time, the hour hand has been shifted to the counter at 12 o'clock, while the hand at the center of the dial displays minutes and the counter at 9 o'clock displays seconds. For chronograph functions, the 6 o'clock counter displays hours, the 30-minute counter at 3 o'clock displays minutes and seconds sweep by on the central hand.

Another inspiration drawn from the prestigious sports car is the unique placement of the timepiece’s chronograph push buttons on the top of the fine-brushed stainless-steel case. This extraordinary ergonomic innovation – a first in the world of watchmaking – mirrors the Mercedes-Benz SLR McLaren’s unique steering wheel gearshift. Water resistant to 50 meters, the polished crown is adorned with the Mercedes-Benz logo, while the caseback is engraved with a limited edition number.

The SLR Chronograph is 14mm thick, with a diameter of 40 mm from 3 to 9 o’clock. Both sides of the sapphire crystal are treated with an anti-reflective coating. The dial is black and the stylish strap is in crocodile leather, with a folding, push-button buckle. Luminous markers give added visibility to the hands.
